We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled
Substation Electromechanical Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering in

Role Expectations: - One-line diagrams aligned with system study requirements
- General arrangement and layout drawings
- Substation civil engineering knowledge
- Major equipment bid specifications
- Detailed estimate and probability modeling
- Structure calculations
- Insulation, A/C interference, static wire, grounding studies
- Work with switchgear, breakers, transformers, and motor-operated disconnects
- Understand how mechanical linkages, springs, motors, and actuators interact with electrical controls
- Support breaker maintenance, mechanism troubleshooting, and equipment upgrades
- Assist with specifying electromechanical relays (older tech) or understanding how modern digital relays interface with mechanical equipment
What we're looking for: - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Six (6) years or more of Power System Engineering Experience Required
- Knowledge of distribution design required
- Completion of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred
- Professional Engineer license is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication and data processing skills
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Must be able to report to the office (Tuesday-Thursday)
Pay Range $90,000- $100,000/annually The salary range for this role considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to technical ability, experience and training, licenses and certifications, and other related skillsets. The disclosed range is an estimate and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
