About the Role:

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Subscription Pricing & Strategy Director to shape the growth strategy and economics of GoodRx’s consumer subscription business. This role will serve as a senior strategic leader at the intersection of subscription strategy, pricing, analytics, and product, defining opportunities and influencing decisions across acquisition, engagement, retention, monetization, and long-term customer value.

The Director will be expected to develop an enterprise-level perspective on the subscription business, identify the highest-value opportunities, and establish the analytical and strategic frameworks used to evaluate them. This role will tackle complex, often ambiguous business questions where the path forward is not predefined, using customer, behavioral, financial, and market insights to develop clear points of view and guide investment and product decisions.

Working closely with senior leaders across Product, Pricing, Finance, Analytics, Marketing, and Design, this individual will influence strategy and priorities, challenge assumptions, and translate insights into coordinated action. The Director will operate with significant autonomy and will be accountable for both the quality of strategic recommendations and their impact on business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional analytical depth with strong commercial judgment and executive-level communication. They can move fluidly between long-range strategy and detailed analysis, recognize patterns and implications beyond the immediate question, and influence decisions across organizational boundaries. Experience in subscription businesses, pricing, consumer technology, or consumer health technology is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Set subscription growth and economic strategy: Develop and continuously refine strategies to accelerate subscriber growth, engagement, retention, lifetime value, and profitability. Identify structural opportunities and risks and establish clear recommendations and priorities for senior leadership.
  • Shape pricing and monetization strategy: Partner with Pricing, Product, Finance, and Analytics leaders to define approaches to subscription pricing, packaging, promotions, benefits, and monetization. Evaluate customer response, competitive dynamics, willingness to pay, and unit economics to inform major pricing decisions.
  • Lead high-impact strategic analyses: Independently frame and solve complex, ambiguous business problems using behavioral, financial, customer, and market data. Develop hypotheses, determine appropriate analytical approaches, synthesize findings, and translate them into consequential business recommendations.
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities: Proactively identify opportunities across the subscription lifecycle and determine where GoodRx should invest. Size opportunities, evaluate strategic and economic tradeoffs, build business cases, and establish decision criteria and success measures.
  • Own the strategic view of subscription performance: Develop a holistic perspective on the drivers of acquisition, conversion, engagement, retention, revenue, lifetime value, and margin. Identify emerging trends, underlying drivers, and implications that require leadership attention or changes in strategy.
  • Influence product and business priorities: Translate customer and economic insights into recommendations that shape product roadmaps, investment decisions, benefit design, go-to-market strategies, and experimentation priorities.
  • Drive cross-functional decision-making: Lead complex initiatives spanning Product, Pricing, Finance, Marketing, Design, Analytics, and other teams. Create alignment among stakeholders with differing objectives and drive decisions forward when ownership, data, or the path to resolution is ambiguous.
  • Advise senior leadership: Serve as a trusted strategic thought partner to senior leaders on subscription growth, pricing, monetization, and economics. Develop concise, executive-ready narratives that synthesize complex analyses, articulate tradeoffs, and recommend a clear course of action.
  • Establish scalable decision frameworks: Build and institutionalize analytical models, strategic frameworks, measurement approaches, and operating mechanisms that improve the quality and speed of subscription-related decisions across the organization.
  • Raise the analytical and strategic bar: Establish best practices for problem structuring, business-case development, experimentation, and strategic analysis. Provide thought leadership and mentorship to colleagues and cross-functional partners without requiring direct people-management responsibility.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in strategy, pricing, analytics, management consulting, corporate strategy, product strategy, monetization, or related disciplines, including experience leading complex, high-impact business decisions.
  • Experience in subscription strategy, pricing, packaging, monetization, or revenue management
  • Demonstrated ability to independently define and solve highly ambiguous problems, establish a strategic point of view, and influence decisions with significant business and financial implications.
  • Deep expertise in using quantitative and qualitative insights to understand customer behavior, business performance, and economic drivers.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience evaluating unit economics, customer lifetime value, investment tradeoffs, and business cases.
  • Advanced SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint capabilities; experience with Python, R, or similar analytical tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to move beyond reporting and analysis to identify second-order implications, structural opportunities, and strategic risks.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to distill complex issues into clear recommendations for executive audiences.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across teams without relying on formal authority.
  • Proven ability to operate with significant autonomy, exercise sound judgment with incomplete information, and simultaneously navigate strategic and executional complexity.

Experience That Is Especially Valuable:

  • Consumer technology or consumer health technology / healthcare
  • Subscription unit economics, lifetime value, churn, and retention optimization
  • Experimentation, customer behavior analytics, segmentation, or willingness-to-pay analysis
  • Product strategy and experience influencing product roadmaps and investment decisions
