Subject Matter Expert (Joint Special Operations)

Position Summary

K2 Solutions is seeking an experienced Joint Special Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Special Operations training, planning, and mission command exercises. This senior-level advisor provides expertise in joint operational planning, Special Operations doctrine, campaign development, and operational integration across Joint Force organizations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Advise government leadership on Joint Special Operations planning.
  • Develop realistic Joint SOF operational scenarios.
  • Support Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC) and Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF) training events.
  • Assist with operational design and campaign planning.
  • Participate in mission planning and operational analysis.
  • Develop exercise products and operational injects.
  • Conduct operational assessments.
  • Support exercise execution and After Action Reviews.
  • Mentor exercise participants on Joint SOF doctrine.
  • Produce planning products and operational reports.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Graduate of a qualifying U.S. military officer course.
  • Graduate of an intermediate or senior service school.
  • Experience serving on a Special Operations Headquarters staff.
  • Experience supporting Joint operations.
  • Graduate of Joint Forces Staff College or equivalent JPME-II program.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) coursework.
  • Experience with Irregular Warfare planning.
  • Intelligence support to SOF operations.
