Subcontracts Manager

Aeronix is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to support its continued business growth. This position is responsible for leading subcontract acquisition and management activities throughout the full lifecycle of development programs, including proposal support, technology maturation, engineering development, qualification, testing, and transition to production. The role focuses primarily on supporting program development efforts rather than high-volume production subcontract management.

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with program management, engineering, finance, contracts, quality, and operations teams to ensure subcontractors meet cost, schedule, technical, and quality objectives while supporting customer requirements and program success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead subcontract acquisition and management activities supporting the full development lifecycle of programs, from proposal development and contract award through design, development, qualification, testing, and program execution.
  • Develop and execute subcontracting strategies that support technology development, engineering efforts, and customer requirements.
  • Serve as the primary subcontract management lead for development programs, coordinating closely with engineering and program management teams to align supplier capabilities with evolving technical requirements.
  • Manage supplier cost, schedule, technical, and quality performance throughout the subcontract lifecycle.
  • Lead negotiations of pricing, terms and conditions, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, and subcontract agreements.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, spend plans, and variance analyses to support program execution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable FAR, DFARS, company policies, and customer requirements.
  • Support domestic and international programs, including Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
  • Identify subcontract-related risks and opportunities and coordinate mitigation strategies with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier development efforts, and small business participation objectives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to supply chain and subcontract professionals as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in subcontract management, procurement, supply chain, or contracts administration.
  • Experience negotiating and managing RFPs, NDAs, purchase agreements, and subcontracts.
  • Experience supporting development, engineering, or low-rate production programs with evolving technical requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of subcontract lifecycle management and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing complex hardware, software, and service-based subcontracts in the aerospace, defense, or government contracting environment.
  • Experience supporting new product development, engineering development, prototype builds, qualification testing, and transition-to-production efforts.
  • Working knowledge of Cost Account Management (CAM), Earned Value Management (EVM), budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain management tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
