Job DescriptionThe
Supply Chain Program Manager (SCPM) reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain and serves as the strategic lead for program-level material execution and supply-chain integration within the Tactical Systems business area at our Greenlawn, NY site.
The SCPM is accountable for developing, coordinating, and executing material strategies that align with program cost, schedule, and quality objectives. This role provides leadership across the full lifecycle of assigned programs-from proposal and capture through production and sustainment-ensuring flawless execution and compliance with internal and external requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as the primary supply-chain interface to Program Management, Engineering, and Operations, driving collaboration, visibility, and accountability across Procurement, Subcontracts, Planning, and Logistics.
- Developing and executing risk- and opportunity-management plans.
- Leading Cost Account Management (CAM) activities.
- Implementing corrective-action plans when required.
Mentoring cross-functional teams, fostering supplier partnerships, and driving continuous-improvement initiatives across Tactical Systems supply-chain operations.
Required Skills and Education- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: 8 + years in supply chain, program management, or subcontract management (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Proven success developing and executing material-program strategies, including cost, schedule, and risk management.
- Experience managing program material budgets and reporting using Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) or comparable methods.
- Strong understanding of FAR/DFAR, ITAR/EAR, and other government acquisition policies applicable to defense contracting.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP (planning, procurement, and reporting functions).
- Advanced communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Financial acumen - ability to manage budgets, cost forecasts, and supplier-performance metrics.
- Experience leading root-cause and corrective-action (RCCA) initiatives.
- U.S. citizenship required (access to defense-related data and facilities).
Preferred Skills and Education- Master's degree in business administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
- PMP, APICS, or ISM certification.
- Experience in Tactical Systems or defense-electronics production environments.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience developing and managing Material Program Plans (MPPs) and supplier scorecards.
- Knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), demand planning, and capacity management.
- Prior leadership of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and support of major program proposals.
- Experience working in complex manufacturing and engineering settings within the defense-aerospace industry.
