Our team in the US is growing. We are currently recruiting for a Study Manager/ Project Manager to join our Minerals & Metals Business line to lead the front-end development of capital projects. This role is instrumental in overseeing the initiation, planning, and conceptual phases of studies, ensuring alignment with both client expectations and corporate standards. The successful candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, a strategic mindset, and strong leadership capabilities to manage cross-functional teams and drive high-quality study outcomes. In addition to technical project oversight, the Study Manager/ Project Manager will play a key role in supporting regional business development initiatives and reinforcing our organization's reputation as a market leader in the Minerals and Metals space.
About the Role - Lead the execution of early-phase studies (scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility) in alignment with internal governance frameworks and client requirements.
- Develop and manage study scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary inputs from engineering, environmental, commercial, and stakeholder teams.
- Engage directly with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure clarity of objectives and seamless communication.
- Conduct risk assessments, trade-off evaluations, and value engineering processes to support informed decision-making.
- Contribute to proposal development, bid strategies, and client presentations as part of business development efforts.
- Actively support growth of the regional portfolio by leveraging global best practices and internal capabilities in process engineering and study delivery.
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of regulatory documentation such as NI 43-101 reporting.
About You - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline; a postgraduate qualification is preferred; Registered PMP in the USA is advantageous
- Previous experience working on a client or Owner's team or previous experience in development, delivery of EPC / EPCM projects, or previous experience in operations of existing mining facilities is an asset
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial sectors, including demonstrated success in leading study teams.
- In-depth understanding of stage-gated project development frameworks and early-phase project planning.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in cost estimating, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities of all disciplines, all construction technologies and job-site management.
- Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
- Willingness to travel when required.
