Position Title: Study Director I

Location: South Plainfield, NJ

Shift: M-F 9am-5pm

How You'll Make an Impact

The position is responsible for overseeing a range of molecular biology techniques, including PCR, sequencing, cloning, and related analyses to support project objectives. The role involves independently managing multiple project types, analyzing data, troubleshooting experiments, reviewing records, preparing reports, and strict adherence to the Azenta Quality System. This position oversees assigned GLP studies and ensures accurate documentation and communication through internal systems and customer interactions. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and effective communication skills in a team environment.

What You'll Do
  • Provide operations team with instructions for PCR and sequencing, Plasmid DNA Preparation, cDNA/gDNA Verification, DNA Cloning and related molecular biology projects where applicable
    • Related tasks to include but are not limited to: PCR amplification, post-reaction preparations, sequencing data analysis, mutation analysis, DNA/RNA extractions, cDNA generation, DNA transformation, and restriction digest analysis.
  • Oversee GLP Studies in the Study Director role including protocol generation, batch record review, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Contribute and/or independently execute project design, data analysis, troubleshooting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of using CLIMS for sample submission/data retrieval for sequencing orders as well as project data delivery.
  • Communicate with customers by phone and e-mail in a friendly and professional manner to assist with simple troubleshooting efforts.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences is required.
  • Master's degree in Life Sciences is preferred.

United States Base Compensation: $79,000.00 - $99,000.00
