School Assistance Coordinator, 10 Month2026 - 2027 School Year Franklin High School
DESCRIPTION: School Assistance Coordinator, 10 Month POSITION SUMMARY: Seeking a dedicated, student-centered Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) to deliver daily support services to students in accordance with Board-approved curriculum, policies, and practices, fostering their academic achievement as well as social and emotional well-being.
The SAC plays a critical role in addressing issues related to substance use, mental health, and overall student wellness by collaborating with administrators, counselors, teachers, families, and community agencies to provide prevention, intervention, and referral services. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and implementing support plans, facilitating individual and group counseling, and leading school-wide initiatives aligned with student wellness and safety. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of adolescent development, experience working with diverse student populations, and a commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Appropriate New Jersey Certification required: School Assistance Coordinator (SAC) OR LPC, OR LAC, OR LSW, OR LCSW (preferred)
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
- Successful Criminal History Clearance
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
COMPENSATION In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 26/27 School Year is Step 1 BA/BS + 45/ MA ($70,523) - Step 18 PhD/EdD ($99,380). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
