Structures EngineerPosition OverviewResponsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Responsibilities-Perform structural sizing and structural integrity evaluations using agreed analysis methods.
-Write technical reports that are accurate, clear, and comprehensive to be peer reviewed by other analysts.
-Be proactive in learning new skills, taking on new assignments, learning analysis methods and procedures.
-Assist the senior analysts in developing standardized analysis methods and preparing for technical interchange meetings.
-Maintain good communication with peers and leads when onsite or remote.
-Support test preparation, execution, and reporting results to validate and verify components meet requirements and specifications.
Minimum Requirements-Must be a US Person.
-Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and typically 2 or more years' related work experience.
-Ability to obtain security clearance, if not already cleared.
-Strong English written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10.
-Experience in classical hand analysis for strength and stability of metallic and composite components.
Preferred Requirements-Demonstrate proficiency in FEM idealization and good modeling practices using Femap, Nastran, ANSYS, Abacus or other FEA packages.
-Able to work independently through common analysis tasks.
-Willing to take on difficult or complex aircraft structural challenges by applying various learned aerospace industry standard classical analysis techniques for both metallic and composite structures.
-Understanding of metallic and composite materials (e.g., forming, machining, lamination theory, fabrication and assembly processes, etc.).
-Automate workflows for speed and efficiency using Microsoft Office 365, VBA, Python, MATLAB, or Boeing custom tools.
-Ability to effectively present technical data in written and oral form.
-Leading small teams through completion of a task in support of a larger milestone.
-Experience with a 3D CAD package CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Creo, NX/Unigraphics, Fusion 360, etc.
Physical Requirements-Ability to work on-site on a weekly basis at our Manassas, VA location.
Salary Range (Annualized USD)- Minimum Range: $75,000.00 to $134,000.00
- Maximum Range: $92,000.00 to $164,000.00
