Full Job Description
Passero Associates' Albany, NY office has an excellent career opportunity for a Structural Project Engineer to join our Structural Department and work alongside a team of talented and outstanding professionals. Typical projects involve structural design and analysis on a diverse range of structural projects including K-12, commercial, municipal, institutional, and multi-family residential, utilizing every major building material in regions across the nation. The candidate we seek must excel as a team player and work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and client personnel.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops solutions for small to mid-scale engineering projects of low to high complexity, from existing building retrofit to new construction.
  • Develops innovative design solutions and engineering production methods to enhance efficiency, quality, and production of work product.
  • Analyzes and designs structures and structural components using structural software, although conceptualizing design by hand prior to input in software is encouraged.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of assigned projects.
  • Maintains high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
  • Develops professional skills through professional organization involvement, project assignments, reading, formal education and seminars.
  • Production of structural construction drawings, specifications and reports using CAD/BIM technology.
  • Construction administration support including project site visits and shop drawings reviews.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • BS in Civil Engineering (with a Structural Emphasis), or related degree, from an ABET accredited program (master's degree preferred)
  • 4-7 years of experience in structural design
  • REVIT experience, required
  • PE Required
  • Working knowledge of International Building Code, AISC Steel Code, ACI Code and ASCE 7 code, required
  • Involvement in multi-disciplined project coordination, a plus
  • Experience with RAM, RISA, ENERCALC or other structural software packages, a plus
  • Familiarity with seismic design
  • Strong verbal and written communication and client service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Personal vehicle and valid driver's license
