Position Overview:

We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer with expertise in structural forensic engineering to join our team. This role focuses on investigating structural failures, performing root cause analyses, and developing repair and remediation solutions. The ideal candidate will combine technical excellence with strong communication and project management skills to deliver expert evaluations and actionable recommendations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct forensic investigations of structural systems, including buildings, bridges, and other civil/structural infrastructure.
  • Perform site inspections, field testing, and data collection to determine the cause of structural issues or failures.
  • Analyze structural performance using calculations, modeling, and applicable building codes and standards.
  • Develop detailed technical reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommended solutions.
  • Design repair or remediation plans and oversee implementation during construction phases.
  • Provide expert witness testimony, when required, for litigation or insurance claims.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to resolve complex structural problems.

Qualifications:
  • PE license required
  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or closely related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Experience with forensic structural engineering investigations related to buildings, structures, and infrastructure systems
  • Experience with client development and project management; experience with insurance and legal sector clients is a plus
  • Experience leading teams and/or mentoring staff

Position Title: Ranks of Engineer III through Senior Principal will be considered

Salary Range: $100k - $200k base salary (commensurate with the level of experience and expertise of the candidate)
