Structural Engineer
RIZZO International, Inc.is seeking a Structural Engineer with Entry Level - 5 years of practical experience to join our growing team. This position is based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. While we prefer candidates who can work on-site, we are open to considering highly qualified remote candidates located anywhere in the U.S.
In this role, you will work on technically complex projects involving civil infrastructure, dams, power plants, foundations, and industrial facilities, with a focus on seismic and dynamic structural analysis. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to meaningful, large-scale engineering challenges across the U.S. and internationally.
Skills & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct linear and non-linear structural analysis, including:
Seismic time history & response spectrum analysis
Harmonic & random vibration analysis
Pushover analysis
Design steel, reinforced, and precast concrete structures (buildings, dams, power plants, foundations, and equipment supports)
Apply structural codes and standards:
ACI 318/349, AISC 360/341, ASCE 4/7/43, ASME Section III, B31.1/31.3, IEEE 344, etc.
Use software tools such as:
ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, GT-Strudl, ABAQUS, Revit, AutoCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB
Prepare technical design reports and calculations
Occasionally travel for project site visits or team meetings
Qualifications:
• B.S. or M.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred)
• Minimum 3 -5 years of structural engineering experience preferred
• E.I.T. certification required; P.E. license preferred
• Strong skills in seismic analysis and structural modeling using ANSYS
• Ability to manage multiple technical projects independently
• U.S. citizenship required (due to project scope)
