Overview/Summary: We are seeking a Structural Engineer to support the analysis and design of structural systems for industrial and advanced manufacturing projects. This role will work closely with structural engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary project teams to develop design concepts, perform structural calculations, and communicate structural requirements through design documents and models. The position is hybrid/remote within the Northeast/Midwest U.S. region and offers opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility as experience grows.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform structural engineering analysis and design under general supervision.
- Design and analyze structural systems in accordance with applicable codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
- Support the development of structural design concepts, calculations, specifications, and design documentation.
- Perform lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic loading.
- Coordinate structural requirements with designers and other engineering disciplines.
- Review and check calculations and engineering work for accuracy and quality.
- Take ownership of assigned structural scope while meeting project schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Define assigned scope and estimate the level of effort required to complete engineering tasks.
- Identify potential scope changes and communicate them to the Structural Lead.
- Apply sound engineering judgment and problem-solving skills while seeking guidance from senior engineers when appropriate.
- Perform field walks as needed to verify existing conditions and support project execution.
- Complete work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail.
Primary Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of structural engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of U.S. building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
- Understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to perform field walks, which may occasionally involve climbing ladders, accessing raised-floor areas, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Must be located within the designated U.S. Northeast/Midwest region.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis or Structural Engineering.
- Experience with structural engineering and project software including STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
- Experience designing and analyzing traditional structural steel and reinforced concrete structures.
- Experience supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or general industrial facilities.
