The OpportunityOur client is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Sarnia, Ontario.

Providing multidisciplinary engineering and design services ranging from bench-scale studies through full commercial EPC execution, the company offers employees the opportunity to work on complex and impactful industrial projects.

What You'll Be Doing- Perform civil and structural engineering design and analysis for industrial facilities.
- Develop practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions that meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Conduct site visits, field assessments, and investigations as required.
- Support and mentor designers throughout the design process.
- Prepare and review:
- Structural calculations
- Design reports
- Technical specifications
- Construction work packages
- Engineering drawings
- Review fabrication and construction drawings for accuracy and constructability.
- Collaborate closely with fabrication, construction, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
What You'll Need to Be Successful- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with the ability to stamp engineering drawings and documents.
- Experience in civil and structural engineering within industrial environments.
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Strong preference for experience supporting brownfield facilities in:
- Petrochemical
- Refining
- Oil & Gas
- Utilities
- Nuclear
- Chemical Processing
- Strong background in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
- Brownfield plant experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with RISA-3D.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and construction packages.
- Experience reviewing fabrication and construction drawings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, fabrication, and construction teams.
- Ability to perform site visits within active industrial facilities.
Compensation range- $80,000- $110,000
