Work Arrangement: Onsite

A growing structural engineering firm in Tampa is looking for a Structural Engineer with commercial building design experience to join its team.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to work on a diverse range of commercial projects rather than being limited to one type of structure or project. The firm's portfolio includes automotive dealerships, car washes, restaurants, apartment buildings, franchise buildings, specialty commercial properties, and other unique projects.

You'll work primarily with structural steel and masonry, while also gaining exposure to wood and concrete systems. The role involves working directly with architects, contractors, and other trades and provides the opportunity to take ownership of projects from design through construction.

  • Manage multiple projects across different phases of design and construction.
  • Review architectural drawings and construction documents.
  • Coordinate structural designs with architects, contractors, and other trades.
  • Coordinate with drafting staff to develop and finalize structural drawings.
  • Work with structural steel, masonry, wood, and concrete systems.
  • Adapt priorities as project requirements and deadlines change.
  • Communicate directly with contractors and other project stakeholders.

Benefits & Perks
  • $90,000-$95,000 salary
  • Florida Blue HMO medical insurance
  • 100% company-paid employee medical coverage
  • Two weeks of PTO
  • 6-8 paid holidays
  • Flexible time-off approach
  • Business travel expenses reimbursed
  • Opportunity for career advancement
  • Potential progression into a Senior Structural Engineer role

This is an opportunity to join a small, growing engineering firm where your work has a direct impact. Instead of being compartmentalized into one type of project, you'll have exposure to a wide variety of commercial structures and the opportunity to take ownership of your work.

You'll work closely with experienced leadership, architects, contractors, and other professionals while building your technical expertise and taking on increasingly complex responsibilities.

For the right engineer, this is a chance to grow with a company, expand your project experience, and build toward a Senior Structural Engineer role while maintaining a professional, focused environment.

Looking forward to your application!
