Location

One of the many things that makes Kiewit's culture unique is that we go where the work is, which exposes your career to abundant opportunities. We relocate our teams based on the work that is available, combined with the development plans, skill sets and career goals of each team member. This means your Kiewit adventure is custom designed to meet our shared needs. The ideal location for this position is Lenexa, KS. Management will consider other supporting locations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with other design group team members to review and exchange project information necessary for design and development
  • Check design for consistency, safety, operability and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking
  • Report task progress to Lead Designer
  • Gather required information and collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models for foundations and steel structures
  • Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details
  • Aid in the development of department standards and tools
  • Mentors other team members in design and modeling techniques
  • Resolve design issues effectively with input from responsible #LI-LH1


Qualifications

  • Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design and 5-10+ years of structural design experience using Revit
  • Demonstrate ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents
  • Display leadership and confidence to monitor peers, especially those with less experience in drafting and design
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the latest computer operating systems
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with other team members and disciplines both verbally and in written form
  • Proficient in Navisworks software for design and review clash detection, and basic computing programs including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • DOE and Commercial Nuclear experience preferred but not required
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent Resident.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to represent Kiewit Engineering & Design Co. in a professional manner to owners, contractors, vendors, and any other contacts outside the Kiewit Engineering & Design Co. organization

Base Compensation: $88,000/yr - $92,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
