GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB

We are seeking a Structural / Civil Engineer to lead the design and delivery of structural / civil systems for mining industrial projects. This role plays a key part in developing safe, practical, and high-quality engineering solutions while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across disciplines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HEALTH AND SAFETY
  • Work in compliance with all Cementation Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Identify health and safety hazards or infractions and report them to the Health and Safety Department.
  • Ensure all applicable safety codes and regulations are met through appropriate design and use of technology.
  • Act as a safety champion by promoting safe behaviours and integrating safety into all designs produced by the group

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and deliver structural / civil designs for mining construction projects from concept through construction
  • Develop engineering solutions that meet regulatory requirements, safety standards, and client operational needs
  • Perform and review engineering calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts
  • Conduct and participate in technical and drawing design reviews
  • Provide technical direction, mentorship, and review of work completed by Engineers-in-Training
  • Support project execution through procurement, vendor evaluation, fabrication, and construction phases
  • Work closely with project management, operations, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, constructible, and cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Supported proposal preparation and technical scope development

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Occasional travel to project sites to support construction activities


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in structural / civil engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada
  • 5 to 10 years of structural / civil engineering experience in mining, heavy industrial, or similar environments
  • Strong knowledge of structural / civil systems, with experience in one or more of the following areas: building design, foundations, concrete, and steel structures
  • Proven ability to lead technical work and mentor junior engineers
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, STAADPro, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Canadian or applicable structural design codes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's s license


ASSETS
  • Experience across multiple stages of the project and engineering lifecycle, including studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility, basic engineering, issued-for-construction (IFC), procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning
  • Exposure to site work, construction support, and field engineering activities
