Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Project Engineer located in the Bloomfield, NJ office, conveniently next to several major highways and not far from New York City. Experience with NJDOT and NJTA design standards and current state of practice such as accelerated bridge construction and prefabricated bridge elements are preferred.  The successful candidate will manage structural teams and complete designs for simple and complex bridges (primarily of steel and concrete construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures and other miscellaneous structures) using applicable software for public clients.  Bridge design work encompasses new and replacement bridges, bridge widening’s, and bridge rehabilitation.  

 

The candidate will be responsible for completing and overseeing all phases of project development including planning, scheduling, inspection, analysis, design, development of contract plans, cost estimates, and technical specifications and reports. The candidate must be able to successfully work independently as well as work with and/or lead a team of structural engineers and drafters, as well as coordinate with other project disciplines, working closely with clients to meet their objectives. The ability and willingness to mentor less experienced staff is required.

  • Utilize structural engineering Software (CSiBridge , etc.)
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BS in Civil Engineering (MS in Structural Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • NJ PE license
  • Experience working on bridge transportation projects
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software
  • Strong skills in technical communication and plan preparation.
  • Ability to mentor less experienced staff
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $97,000 to $125,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
