Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform structural analysis (FEA and Classical Hand) for different phases of the project, such as configuration studies, preliminary design, detailed design, and verification and validation (static and dynamic testing). Responsible for analyzing and sizing the structural hardware per prescribed loading environment and material properties, and generating the structural (strength and stability) margins. Other responsibilities include making configuration and design recommendations to optimize the load path and thus achieving a more efficient design.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or civil Engineering.
  • Wide-ranging experience in structural analyses techniques including classical hand analyses and Finite Element analysis utilizing both coarse system load and detail stress FE models.
  • Working knowledge of FEA codes (MSC/NASTRAN or NX/NASTRAN) and pre & post processing tools (FEMAP).
  • Knowledge of metallic and composite structures, as well as bonded joint, and bolted joint analyses.
  • Knowledge of structural failure mechanisms including material failure in metals and composites, instability of structural elements, and Fatigue.

DESIRED SKILLS
  • TS/SCI Clearance Preferred.
  • Knowledge of nonlinear and dynamic response (sinusoidal, random, time history) analyses.
  • Experience with static and dynamic testing.
  • Other preferred computer skills include MATLAB, NX CAD and Teamcenter, SolidWorks.
