This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

As part of a passionate team, you will perform analysis to support the development of the BE-4 rocket engine using classical methods and Finite Element Modeling (FEM). You will be an integral part of the Engine Assembly and Structures Product Team as we drive design, manufacturing, mass, and cost improvements across the engine system while supporting rate production. Some hardware you could be responsible for analyzing include: High and low pressure ducts, pressurized lines, gimbals, secondary/ancillary structures and brackets, flexible elements, and bolted joints.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Performing detailed hand calcs and FEA of aerospace structures and pressurized systems for new designs, design improvements, and for non-conforming hardware
  • Effectively and constructively collaborate with team members from various fields and backgrounds, providing inputs for design development activities and trade studies
  • Authoring structural analysis reports to support release of engineering drawings and documents
  • Supporting test plan development to verify requirements and generate material and structural data necessary to establish confidence in design solutions
  • Create and update analysis tools to improve efficiency and/or accuracy of analysis


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in structural analysis using commercial FEA tools and hand-calcs
  • Experience with structural analysis of pressurized components, secondary/ancillary hardware, fluid lines/ducts, and/or similar high-performance hardware.
  • Solid understanding of structural analysis/mechanics and fatigue.
  • Knowledge of engineering materials and their applications.
  • Ability to communicate analysis results effectively.
  • Ability to work in teams.
  • Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks simultaneously.
  • B.S. degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Propulsion Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical/Workbench
  • Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc.)
  • Experience with structural modeling of aerospace or other high-performance primary and secondary structures
  • Experience with Agentic AI


Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35
