Job Summary

The Structures and Payload Design Engineer will support the design, integration, and certification of aircraft structures and interior payload systems throughout the product lifecycle. The role will involve structural and interior payload design, requirements development, design verification and validation, supplier coordination, production support, and collaboration across engineering, production, and program teams. The position will also support aircraft interior design, including stow bins and crew areas, and contribute to the development of new design and analysis processes.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system designs.
• Develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3D Computer-Aided Design tools and other engineering methods.
• Utilize 3D CAD tools, including CATIA and INOVA, for structural and interior payload design.
• Provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers.
• Lead performance, integration, and analysis of tests to verify and validate systems and components against requirements.
• Manage and coordinate supplier development, testing, and production activities to optimize designs and achieve program goals.
• Support aircraft interior design, including stow bins and crew areas.
• Investigate emerging technologies and develop concepts for future product designs.
• Engage with project engineering, production engineering, program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions.
• Support production system fabrication and the structural and mechanical aspects of aircraft interiors.
• Support design integration and certification activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Contribute to the development of new design and analysis processes.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Structural, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• A minimum of 9 years of relevant engineering experience for Level 4.
• Relevant engineering experience in design, integration, or certification.
• A relevant Master's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program may qualify candidates with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to learn, motivation, and the ability to clearly articulate technical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working within a demanding production environment.
• Understanding of FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or equivalent EASA requirements.
• Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria, and engineering release processes.
• Experience in program or project management, including schedule milestone development and execution, financial assessments, and risk management.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
