Full Job Description
Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care with the team. Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementing quality assurance and improvement initiatives. Guides interdisciplinary team members in performance improvement and incorporates evidence-based practice protocols into daily operations of the stroke program. Ensures a high level of data accuracy and quality for stroke program reporting. Collaborates with community and professional organizations to further education and awareness about stroke prevention and treatment. Provides outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships. Other duties as assigned. Monitors departmental compliance with regulatory and compliance requirements. Assists with the marketing and advertising of programs and services. Acts as a key decision maker for interdisciplinary teams responsible for monitoring and improving program performance. Facilitates the development and implementation of stroke-related educational initiatives for staff, patients, community, and emergency medical services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Up-to-date knowledge of adult neuroscience, stroke treatment, care, and prevention [Required]• Advanced knowledge of sepsis and stroke nursing practice [Required]• Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other health care professionals in the management and implementation of care within and across care settings and communities [Required]• Ability to multitask and manage time to perform well on long-term projects, while maintaining flexibility to assimilate short-term projects on an ongoing basis [Required]• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]• Ability to evaluate the status of the stroke program and assist with establishing program goals for improvement [Required]• Ability to use sound judgment to handle potentially charged issues independently and understand when to escalate concerns [Required]• Strong leadership, organization, and collaboration skills [Required]• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills [Required]• Knowledge of process improvement strategies [Required]• Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff [Required]• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities to achieve organizational goals [Required]• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]• Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) [Required]• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PowerPoint) [Preferred]• Knowledge related to telemedicine practice [Preferred]• Knowledge of Joint Commission Stroke Certification requirements, Sepsis Care requirements, and AHA "Get With the Guidelines" program [Preferred]• Knowledge of state/federal regulatory agencies, accreditation standards and national society clinical guidelines [Preferred]• Quality improvement knowledge include but not limited to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) outcomes, Value Based Purchasing, Bundle Payment, and other national quality improvement initiatives [Preferred]• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
