Job DescriptionYou will be the Stress Analysis Engineer - Level 3 for the F-35 Fuselage and MRB Stress Analysis Team which is responsible for delivering structural integrity solutions for the F-35 airframe.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Stress Analysis Engineer - Level 3 you will be responsible for creating and validating stress analyses that ensure the safety and performance of metallic aircraft structures. Your work will directly support production and sustainment efforts while advancing toolsets that streamline the MRB workflow.

- Perform stress analysis on metallic materials, sizing detail parts and assessing strength of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
- Support Production and Sustainment Material Review Board (MRB) repairs to verify that discrepant parts meet required strength standards.
- Post-process finite-element model (FEM) results and quickly determine internal airframe loads to guide repair dispositions.
- Collaborate with the MRB to craft dispositions for complex repairs.
- Develop and apply new tools and processes that improve efficiency of the MRB workflow.

Further Information About This OpportunityMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
- Experience with structural analysis of primary and secondary metallic and/or composite airframe structure
- Experience in Material Review Board (MRB) or Liaison stress analysis to support production aircraft
Desired skills- Experience with free-body diagrams, classical hand calculations, Finite Element Modeling and Analysis including pre- and post-processing
- Experience using Linux and Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, and additional programing languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate in a team-based environment
National Pay StatementPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
