Position OverviewThe
Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that optimize procurement processes, drive cost efficiencies, and support the overall procurement needs of the organization. This role collaborates across departments to analyze existing data, market trends, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and sustainability initiatives.
This is an
individual contributor role joining our Operational Innovation & Excellence Center (OIEC) team and will be based onsite with a
hybrid work schedule at our Lenexa, Kansas office (Kansas City metro). Travel is expected to be 30% across the US and Canada.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead strategic sourcing: You will be the architect of the global sourcing strategy for indirect spend across the US and Canada.
- Develop multi-tiered sourcing strategies that mitigate risks, ensure business continuity and leverage supplier partnerships across the enterprise.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and capacity to secure long-term cost and availability advantages.
- Implement standard work and sourcing KPIs that improve cost, lead time and supplier quality performance.
- Drive risk mitigation strategies addressing internal and external constraints, market volatility through supplier diversification.
- Support adoption of new reporting tools and data processes through training, documentation, and ongoing user support
- Lead change management efforts related to new suppliers, system enhancements, dashboards, and process improvements
- Ensure reporting solutions align with supply chain strategy, operational efficiency goals, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen data-driven decision-making across the supply chain organization
Qualifications- 8+ years of sourcing or procurement experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in enterprise-level indirect spend management.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to influence without authority.
- Demonstrated success driving change management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proficiency with SAP, Ariba, Power BI, and Excel preferred.
- Ability to travel across US and Canada up to 30%.
