Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Generalist (Contract)

Location: Remote. Work Eastern Time business hours.

Employment type: Contract. Full time hours

Duration: Long term. Initial engagement through end of year with options to extend in 6 month increments

Role overview

Join a Strategic Sourcing team that is evolving from transactional purchasing to a strategic partner model. In this role you will lead sourcing activities and contract execution for agreements under 100,000 in your assigned category, driving value, mitigating risk, and supporting compliance. We are hiring one Generalist focused on Technology.

What you will do

Strategic sourcing and category support
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize spend, reduce risk, and enhance value aligned to business objectives
  • Run RFP and RFI events, conduct market research, perform supplier evaluations, and recommend award decisions for deals under 100,000
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers and standardize solutions while maintaining service quality
  • Refresh strategies based on market conditions, cost drivers, and risk assessments

Supplier and contract management
  • Lead supplier selection for assigned engagements under 100,000
  • Negotiate commercial terms and service level agreements to achieve favorable cost, risk, and performance outcomes
  • Partner with Legal, Governance Risk and Compliance, and Information Security to ensure required terms and security standards are included
  • Support supplier performance reviews and issue escalation

Cross functional partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders within your category scope
  • Engage early with teams to understand goals, roadmaps, and demand forecasts
  • Improve contract compliance, supplier performance, and policy adherence through collaborative execution

Data and process excellence
  • Analyze spend data to benchmark and surface savings and efficiency opportunities
  • Build category cost models and total cost of ownership analyses to inform recommendations and track impact
  • Use Procurement platforms and enterprise AI tools to deliver insight and accelerate decision making

Category focus

Technology opening
  • Scope includes SaaS, cybersecurity, enterprise software, hardware, cloud and hosting, and emerging technology services
  • Manage sourcing events and agreements under 100,000 with a focus on value, security, and compliance

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred

Experience
  • 3 to 5 years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management
  • Direct experience in one of the following
  • Technology category sourcing
  • Marketing and Professional Services category sourcing
  • Familiarity with ERP, supplier management, and contract lifecycle management tools

Skills and attributes
  • Knowledge of category suppliers and market trends in either Technology or Marketing and Professional Services
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to produce data based insights and recommendations
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities with stakeholder influence experience
  • Demonstrated collaboration with Legal, Finance, Security, and business teams
  • High integrity, initiative, curiosity, and strong organization
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, mission driven, cross functional environment

Preferred certifications
  • CPSM, PMP, Lean or Six Sigma, or ISM

Hourly Pay Range: $40hr - $50hr (Depending on Experience)
