Full Job Description
About This Role:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager owns the strategic sourcing function as a unified, coherent system rather than a collection of siloed commodities. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for building the team, setting contract and negotiation governance, establishing rigorous process standards, and managing the consolidated cross-category risk view. While individual Category Managers own specific spend areas end-to-end, you will ensure their work is consistently high-caliber, defensible, and aligned with Crusoe's broader strategic objectives.

This is a pivotal people leadership and strategy role designed to scale our sourcing organization. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience designing sourcing playbooks, coaching talent through complex vendor negotiations, and translating portfolio-level supply chain risks into actionable leadership insights. If you thrive on developing high-performing teams, enforcing strategic discipline under schedule pressure, and building scalable procurement frameworks in an industrial manufacturing environment, this position offers high-impact visibility. This is a Full-Time position.

What You'll Be Working On:
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development: Hire, coach, and evaluate the Category Manager team, implementing structured development projects to elevate capability across commodity areas.
  • Cross-Category Risk Rollup: Maintain a consolidated, portfolio-wide risk register identifying top single-source exposures, lead-time bottlenecks, and supplier financial concerns across all categories.
  • Process Standardization: Own and continuously improve core sourcing playbooks, including the RFI/RFQ/AVL qualification sequence, Kraljic category frameworks, and standardized supplier scorecards.
  • Negotiation Governance: Establish deal sign-off thresholds, escalation paths, and redline standards, providing direct coaching to Category Managers on high-stakes, complex supplier contracts.
  • Capacity & Resource Prioritization: Prioritize team bandwidth across spend categories to ensure sourcing efforts align with critical business demands and schedule constraints.
  • Functional Boundary Enforcement: Enforce clean operational boundaries between Strategic Sourcing and Material Planning so Category Managers remain focused on commercial strategy rather than tactical execution.
  • Executive Reporting & S&OP Representation: Synthesize all category strategies, cost savings/avoidance metrics, and supply constraints into a single, cohesive view for executive leadership and monthly S&OP reconciliations.

What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • Experience: 8-12+ years of dedicated experience in strategic sourcing or category management, including direct people management of a sourcing or procurement team within manufacturing, industrial hardware, or electrical equipment sectors.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Organizational Scaling: Proven track record of designing, implementing, and scaling sourcing governance, process playbooks, and team development structures from the ground up.
  • Negotiation Coaching: Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation with the ability to review, redline, and coach team members on complex commercial terms (e.g., liability caps, force majeure, delivery commitments).
  • Strategic & Financial Acumen: Fluency in portfolio risk management, category segmentation models (e.g., Kraljic Matrix), and financial modeling to defend cost savings and cost avoidance at the leadership level.

Bonus Points:
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or relevant advanced degree.
  • Prior experience scaling sourcing teams within high-tech infrastructure, power systems, data centers, or modular manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on ERP experience with Acumatica or similar enterprise systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management).

Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation and equity packages
  • Restricted Stock Units
  • Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs
  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance
  • Employer contributions to HSA account
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • Professional development & tuition reimbursement
  • Mental health & wellness support
  • Commuter benefits (parking & transit)
  • Cell phone stipend
  • 401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary
  • Volunteer time off
  • Global travel insurance & emergency assistance
  • Daily meals allowance
  • Additional perks & programs specific to location

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $155,000 - $185,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
