We are hiring a Strategic Sourcing Lead in El Segundo, CA, to support aerospace and defense supply chain, strategic sourcing, supplier development, and procurement initiatives across critical programs. This role leads key supplier relationships, commodity sourcing, cost reduction, supply chain risk mitigation, and supplier performance while ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS, Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR), and AS9100 requirements.
The Strategic Sourcing Lead will partner with Global Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Finance, Operations, Business Development, and senior leadership to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate supplier agreements, establish new sources of supply, and improve cost, quality, delivery, and production readiness.
Responsibilities:- Lead strategic sourcing and supplier development initiatives to achieve cost, quality, delivery, agreement, and production ramp-up targets.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for multiple commodity categories, including mechanical components, electronics, and raw materials.
- Identify, evaluate, categorize, and develop new and existing suppliers to strengthen supply continuity and reduce supply chain risk.
- Build cross-functional partnerships with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Operations, Global Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to identify and manage critical suppliers.
- Lead implementation and negotiation of long-term supplier agreements, including LTAs, BPAs, TAs, and MOUs.
- Establish supplier relationship frameworks that support program requirements, business objectives, and mutually beneficial supplier partnerships.
- Support make-or-buy decisions and develop sourcing and risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
- Manage key supplier relationships and ensure compliance with program requirements, company policies, and contractual obligations.
- Anticipate future sourcing requirements and develop proactive supply strategies supporting production and program demand.
- Apply supplier, product, technical, commodity, and sourcing knowledge to supplier selection and procurement decisions.
- Ensure supplier agreements and procurement activities comply with FAR/DFARS and CPSR requirements.
- Develop supplier plans and timelines addressing risk, performance, availability, cost, and value proposition targets.
- Lead supplier strategy, identification, categorization, development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support internal audits, AS9100 requirements, and CPSR audit readiness activities.
- Drive supplier innovation, lead-time reduction, cost-target achievement, and improved delivery performance.
- Manage supplier escalations and develop recovery plans addressing schedule, delivery, quality, and performance issues.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and business reviews and lead corrective and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; final clearance is required post-start.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of sourcing experience, including 3+ years of supplier development experience.
- Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS requirements, supplier agreements, and CPSR-compliant procurement practices.
- Experience managing multiple commodity categories and supplier bases, including mechanical, electronics, raw materials, or related commodities.
- Experience supporting strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and supply chain activities in an aerospace or defense environment.
- Ability to work 100% on-site in El Segundo, California.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- APICS/ASCM or CPSM certification.
- Demonstrated success implementing strategic sourcing and supplier development programs.
- Experience negotiating supplier pricing, terms, delivery requirements, and long-term agreements.
- Experience developing and presenting sourcing strategies and technical information for leadership review and approval.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience influencing suppliers and internal stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
