Why This Role Is Critical

As Framatome Canada continues to grow beyond our traditional customer base and into emerging markets, new service models, and strategic partnerships, the scale, complexity, and commercial importance of our strategic initiatives are increasing materially. This role exists to ensure that our most critical strategic projects are well-defined, appropriately prioritized, and executed with discipline across cost, schedule, quality, risk, and stakeholder expectations. It bridges strategy and execution - translating leadership vision and growth objectives into structured programs, while maintaining portfolio-level visibility, control, and accountability.

What You'll Do Day-To-Day

Reporting directly to the COO, the Manager, Strategic Projects plays a central role in enabling Framatome Canada's expansion in strategic and emerging markets. By combining strong project and portfolio management with strategic, commercial, and market-facing thinking, this role materially increases the probability that our highest-value initiatives deliver sustainable growth and the intended outcomes for our customers, our people, and the business.
  • Provides project leadership for major commercial nuclear facilities design, construction, expansion, extension, renovation or component replacement projects.
  • Prepares project plans/schedules/materials to achieve project quality, reliability, cost and timing objectives.
  • Utilizes approved project management methods and processes to execute low risk projects of existing technology and methods to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Provides primary interface between project team, management and client.
  • Develops assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinates multiple project activities including organizing and directing personnel, materials and equipment; utilizes team building skills to ensure satisfactory project performance.
  • Defines and forecasts needed skills to meet project objectives.
  • Manages cash flow and ensures attainment of expected cash position.
  • Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies.
  • Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd.
  • Expected to achieve and continue to maintain Framatome PM Certification.


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field with a minimum of 5 years related technical experience is required. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Advanced business and/or technical expertise in a related technical or professional capacity.
  • Knowledge of major project-related processes.
  • Good knowledge of nuclear safety issues and requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with all levels of staff and management, vendors and customers.
  • Excellent problem identification and problem resolution skills with emphasis on 'root cause' analysis. Excellent report development and presentation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support executive-level decision making through clear analysis and concise materials.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of the CANDU ecosystem
  • International business experience
  • MBA or equivalent advanced business education


Total Rewards Package

  • Salary: $129,000-$176,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
