As part of the Partnership and Stakeholder Development Branch, the Partnership Advisor plays a key role in identifying, brokering, supporting, assessing, and stewarding complex and high-priority relationships between the organization and the government, business, academic, social, community, and not-for-profit sectors in support of the EPS Strategic Plan's goals of "Partner and Advocate" and "Connect, Share, and Evolve".

Working collaboratively with areas across the EPS, the Partnership Advisor is responsible for:

  • Building strong relationships and acting as a point of contact within their portfolio, ensuring the EPS' strategic imperatives, interests, and values are understood by parties (and vice versa)
  • Developing and implementing partnership brokering, management, and assessment strategies to establish intentional, mutually beneficial partnerships and enhanced partner experiences
  • Providing advisory, facilitation, and strategic planning services to internal stakeholders to build capacity and support relationships and partnerships
    • This may include assisting with scoping and planning, trust building, visioning, implementation, governance, assessment and evaluation, dispute resolution and issues management, scaling or closure, and analyzing and implementing action plans to support emerging issues and opportunities
  • Informing organizational strategies and programming by identifying potential collaborations or partners along with priorities, needs, perspectives, and contributions of various parties
  • Planning, developing, executing, and supporting related consultation and engagement efforts
  • Tracking, evaluating, and reporting on the effectiveness of partnerships and partner engagement initiatives (through use of a Stakeholder Management System in addition to other means such as presentations and reports)
  • Conducting current state assessments and environmental scanning activities to identify opportunities for improvement to partnerships as well as risks to the organization and its reputation
  • Contributing to branch strategic planning and programming
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Social Sciences or a related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a complex environment, working in an advisory capacity within external relations and/or in partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or stakeholder development.
  • Certification in Change Management and/or Project Management and/or Public Engagement would be considered an asset
  • Experience working in or with social sector agencies would also be considered an asset
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization to ensure that EPS priorities and goals are advanced in an aligned and integrated way
  • Ability to build trust and nurture relationships with parties who may have differing opinions and competing priorities
  • Highly developed communication skills including proven experience facilitating multi perspective conversations and moving from conversation to action
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues and independently manage situations that require diplomacy, tact, and political knowledge and awareness
  • Experience working in a dynamic work environment, managing competing deadlines and making timely decisions and recommendations
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and understanding of diverse and marginalized communities is preferred
