Title:
Strategic Engagements SME - Temporary STARCOM Support

KBR is seeking a seeking a Strategic Engagements Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Headquarters Space Training and Readiness Command (HQ STARCOM) at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida.

This is a temporary position with performance anticipated 08/03/26 - 10/09/26.

A strong candidate has created environments in which senior military leaders can tackle wicked problems and advance the mission. In this position, you will:

Key responsibilities:
  • Support the STARCOM Commander's Action Group.
  • Advise senior leaders on attendance at symposia, public events, speaking engagements, and conferences.
  • Provide general support to the STARCOM/CC and senior leaders in execution of their USSF responsibilities.
  • Prepare the Commander and senior leaders for internal and external conferences.
  • Organize, plan and execute senior level planning conferences and engagements and work closely with protocol and strategic communication teams during planning and execution.
  • Write, edit, print and disseminate executive correspondence.
  • Interact with stakeholders and points of contact to prepare full itineraries, schedule events, arrange escorts, coordinate with protocol, book conference rooms, prepare name plates / tags, organize food delivery / set up, and make real-time adjustments.
  • Ensure logistics are prepared and complete for meetings, working groups or conferences.
  • Prepare rooms for events, check attendees in, take attendance, ensure set up and tear down of conference room / equipment / supplies, prepare and present seating charts, organize seating arrangements and name plates, order food (prepaid by attendees) and provide to attendees.
  • Take meeting notes and capture action items.
  • Travel may be required for limited durations to support Customer events.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required for this position. A Secret clearance may be considered.
  • BA/BS degree (5+ years of relevant experience may substitute).
  • 5+ years of experience with strategic engagements.
  • Experience with providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis and recommendations
  • Ability to multi-task and produce high-quality products in a high-tempo, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Desired:
  • Headquarters experience in the US Space Force, US Air Force, Combatant Command, SpOC, STARCOM or equivalent.
  • Experience with US Space Force weapon systems and missions.
  • Accustomed to professionally working with internal / external senior leaders, offices, directorates, and action officers.


Scheduled Weekly Hours:
  • 40 hours per week


Work Environment:
  • Location: Patrick SFB, FL
  • Travel Requirements: 10% or Less Minimal Travel
  • Working Hours: Standard 40 hours per week
