Title:

Strategic Communication Specialist

KBR is seeking a Senior Acquisition Support and Strategic Communication Specialist to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This position requires support to senior leadership across Space Systems Command.  We are seeking a highly skilled Communication Specialist who is passionate about space, technology, and communication.

In addition to being highly proficient in the communication field, our ideal candidate is creative, organized, highly collaborative, able to influence peers, and interacts comfortably with senior leadership across the government and private industry.  An individual who can also comfortably handle multiple projects simultaneously is also strongly desired. 

Responsibilities include:

The candidate shall develop and coordinate plan, products, and processes for requisite Space Force, Portfolio Acquisition Executives (PAEs), Directors, Deltas and program offices. Implement innovative communication methods demonstrating breath and knowledge of the latest industry best practices. Develop, manage, and execute end-to-end event production. Develop and manage branding, brand strategies, and guidelines. Support messaging efforts to defend, educate, and promote the organization's mission. Support senior leader strategic engagements and preparation packages, and support implementation consistent with customers' vision(s). Develop a range of communication products leveraging modern tools, mediums, and technologies to assist senior leaders achieve strategic objectives. Provide full-service multimedia capabilities demonstrating professional knowledge in photography, end-to-end video production, and innovative design leveraging the latest technologies and methods. Research, draft, and edit articles, speeches, and testimony of the director and/or PAE.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in related science field (e.g., Business, Cost Estimating / Analysis, Financial Management, Engineering, Mathematics or other related technical discipline)

- 10 years of applicable job experience

- Active Secret clearance

- Understands Program Management of ACAT I through ACAT III programs

- Knowledge of Higher Headquarters, Air Force and Space Force, processes and procedures as it relates to their functional responsibility

- Speak/write Air Force, Space Force and Space Acquisition terminology appropriately

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills

- Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders

- Goal-oriented, strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves and execute tactics

Desired Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in related science field (e.g., Business, Cost Estimating / Analysis, Financial Management, Engineering, Mathematics or other related technical discipline)

- Previous experience in space acquisition and or technology sector is important with 5+ years of communications and project management experience

- Experience with Confluence, JIRA, and/or TMT

- Certifications:  DAWIA/APDP Program Management Level III, Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or PMP Program Management Professional (PgMP)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Basic Compensation: $140-155k

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
