Scope & ImpactThe Strategic Capacity Manager is responsible for developing and managing the carrier network that supports NTG's dedicated and contractual freight portfolio. As part of the Network Strategy team, you'll work closely with Customer Sales, Carrier Sales, and external carrier and customer partners to ensure long-term customer commitments are supported by reliable, scalable carrier capacity.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strategic relationships, solving complex network challenges, and creating long-term transportation solutions. You'll play a key role in strengthening NTG's contractual network while positioning the company for continued growth.
What You'll Do- Own carrier capacity and service performance for NTG's dedicated and contractual freight portfolio to ensure reliable execution of customer commitments.
- Build and strengthen long-term partnerships with customer transportation leaders and executive-level carrier partners to expand strategic capacity.
- Develop, implement, and optimize routing guides and carrier commitments that improve network efficiency and service performance.
- Partner with Customer Sales and Carrier Sales to align customer demand with executable carrier capacity and identify opportunities for network growth.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for strategic capacity and service challenges impacting contractual freight.
- Support customer procurement and RFP initiatives by developing capacity strategies before awards and operationalizing carrier networks after business is secured.
- Monitor market conditions, carrier performance, and customer demand to proactively identify risks, improve network performance, and uncover growth opportunities.
- Maintain visibility into network capacity, routing guides, and carrier commitments to support informed business decisions across the organization.

What Success Looks LikeWithin your first 6-12 months, you will:
- Successfully manage carrier capacity and service performance across your assigned contractual freight portfolio.
- Demonstrate proficiency in NTG's transportation systems, routing guide management, and network strategy processes.
- Build trusted relationships with customer transportation managers, strategic carrier partners, and internal sales teams.
- Successfully support procurement initiatives and implement carrier capacity plans for new contractual business.
- Become a trusted resource for strategic capacity planning and network optimization across the organization.
- Position yourself for expanded ownership of strategic accounts and network initiatives.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, account management, network strategy, or supply chain operations.
- Ability to develop strategic carrier partnerships and execute long-term capacity solutions.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams while balancing customer service, operational execution, and profitability.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting dedicated or contractual freight networks.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), routing guides, or carrier procurement.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation analytics.
- Experience supporting customer RFPs, procurement events, or strategic network planning.
