Some of what you will do:

The Strategic Account Leader (SAL) is responsible for driving engagement with customers in order to Increase revenue and profit. This is done by owning an in depth understanding of the customer, and providing solutions tailored to customer needs, achieving sales targets in all product categories and positioning Staples with key executives and decision makers. This position also requires knowledge of key product categories including Office Supplies, Furniture, Facilities and Break Room Supplies, Technology and Print. The SAL will be expected to lead the interactions with customers, other internal departments (Customer Service, Sales Operations, Marketing, Digital etc) and all levels of the Staples organization to meet customer needs and established targets.

Specifically, You Will:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies to drive revenue growth and delivering on sales targets across multiple product categories.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key executives and decision-makers, providing tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Expand relationships into all facets of the customer environment to drive creative and new partnership opportunities
  • Work closely with diverse teams, including Customer Service, Sales Operations, Marketing, and Digital, to deliver exceptional customer solutions. Leverage technologies to enhance customer engagement and drive efficiency.
  • Utilize your deep understanding of the banking sector and expertise in key product categories, including Office Supplies, Furniture, Facilities, Technology, and Print to drive net new opportunities for Staples.


Some of what you need:
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience engaging with senior-level executives (Director, VP, C-Suite).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Expertise in consulting, solution presentation, negotiation, and advanced account management.
  • Three to Five years' experience in business development would be an asset.
  • Proven track record of delivering to sales targets and overachieving plan.
  • Deep understanding of the banking sector, and its unique challenges would be an asset.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a lead account management role supporting large market or Fortune 500 customers.
