SummaryHII-Mission Technologies is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will support U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) by ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of mission-critical information systems. This role is responsible for implementing cybersecurity policies, managing system accreditation activities, and providing ongoing security oversight to ensure systems remain fully aligned with DoD and SOCOM requirements. The ISSO will work closely with system owners, administrators, cybersecurity teams, and mission partners to maintain a secure operating environment for sensitive and classified information systems.

What You Will Do- Implement and enforce DoD, SOCOM, and organizational cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including system categorization, control selection, documentation, and continuous monitoring.
- Maintain system security plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, incident response documentation, and other required accreditation artifacts.
- Coordinate with system administrators to ensure proper configuration management, patching, and security control implementation.
- Monitor cybersecurity tools, logs, and alerts to identify and respond to potential security incidents.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities.
- Assist in preparing systems for audits, inspections, and formal security assessments.
- Provide security guidance during system development, integration, and modernization to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Collaborate with SOCOM security, network, and mission teams to ensure secure system operations within highly dynamic mission environments.
What We Are Looking For- Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Level:4 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Level 5: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- Experience supporting DoD or government cybersecurity programs or environments.
- Familiarity with NIST RMF, DoD cybersecurity policies, DISA STIGs, and related security frameworks.
- Understanding of system hardening, vulnerability management, and incident response processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
Preferred: Bonus Points For...- Prior experience supporting SOCOM or other Special Operations elements.
- Active Secret or higher clearance.
- Security certifications such as Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISM,
- Experience with classified systems, cross-domain solutions, and secure system architectures.
