Position Summary

As an STC Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be the technical lead for all electrical systems architecture and integration tasks across our Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) cabin upgrade projects. Operating under JAR25, CS25, and FAR25 airworthiness requirements, you will own the electrical package from end to end-translating initial customer requests into certified, installable wiring and system configurations for the hangar floor.

Your working environment:

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

Your challenges:

  • You will act as the technical anchor for the electrical systems team, ensuring all engineering packages are delivered on-time and on-quality.
  • Architecture & Design: Define complex cabin electrical system architectures (block diagrams), author equipment specifications, and validate all engineering Wiring Diagrams.
  • Compliance Deliverables: Author and approve technical/substantiation notes, installation instructions, and Service Bulletins (SBs).
  • Project Team Representation: Represent the electrical discipline during multi-functional team meetings and directly report status to the Project Manager.
  • On-Site Technical Assistance: Provide real-world engineering support to the working party technicians during the actual aircraft modification phase.
  • Ensure all cabin electrical designs strictly align with applicable aviation regulations and Airbus engineering requirements.
  • Perform all technical tasks utilizing approved company processes, engineering tools, and strict ethics/compliance standards.
  • Actively manage your tasks to ensure all deliverables stay within the agreed project schedule and budget
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, simplify, or automate current engineering procedures, design workflows, and software tools.
  • Promote lean ways of working and champion constructive changes within the engineering team.
  • Capture and share lessons learned from completed retrofit projects to improve global execution.
  • Partner with the Program team during the initial offer phase to provide technical estimations and quotations for prospective customer modifications.
  • Maintain agility by occasionally supporting simple cabin mechanical design tasks, configuration management, or technical publication updates as needed.


Your boarding pass:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering).

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the aviation industry, with a direct focus on aircraft cabin electrical systems design, development, and certification pathways.


  • Authorized to Work in the US


  • ATA Chapter Expertise: Strong engineering experience with embedded aircraft electrical systems across key ATA chapters, including:


  • ATA 23 (Communications)
  • ATA 24 (Electrical Power)
  • ATA 25 (Cabin Equipment/Galley/In-Flight Entertainment)
  • ATA 26 (Fire Protection)
  • ATA 33 (Lights)
  • ATA 44 (Cabin Systems)
  • Substantiation & Testing: Proven hands-on experience developing Safety Analyses, Electrical Load Analyses (ELA), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) mitigations, and Ground Test Instructions.
  • Regulations & Pubs: Working knowledge of equipment qualification standards DO-160 and DO-178. Mastery of standard Aircraft Publications including AMMs, AWMs, and IPCs.


  • General technical knowledge of Airbus aircraft systems and architectures.

  • Familiarity with EASA Part 21 (DOA / POA) and Part 145 regulatory frameworks.
  • Prior experience managing technical projects or navigating complex aircraft configuration management.


  • A highly collaborative team player with a synthetic mindset (ability to condense complex electrical issues into clean, executable concepts).

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present technical data to executive leadership.
  • High motivation and flexibility to shift gears smoothly in a demanding, fast-paced retrofit environment.
