Position Summary

ANSER is seeking a Statistician/Mathematician to support Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) intelligence and AI assurance requirements through advanced statistical modeling, quantitative analysis, and rigorous evaluation of analytic and artificial intelligence (AI) system performance. In this role you will apply sophisticated statistical and mathematical methods to complex intelligence and technical challenges, develop quantitative methodologies and performance metrics, and support testing, evaluation, verification, and validation (TEVV) activities.

Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced statistical and mathematical methods to solve complex intelligence, analytical, and AI assurance problems.
  • Collect, organize, validate, and prepare numerical data for statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Develop statistical and mathematical models for analysis, simulation, testing, and performance evaluation.
  • Design scientifically valid metrics and analytical methodologies using appropriate baselines, historical data, statistical tests, sampling techniques, and experimental designs.
  • Process large and complex datasets and develop code or scripts to automate data collection, processing, modeling, and analysis.
  • Develop and apply statistical methods to evaluate AI system performance, robustness, fairness, and reliability.
  • Design and execute TEVV protocols and analyze test results to identify performance deficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct audits and analyze performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, risks, deficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Review Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) documentation for completeness, accuracy, technical rigor, and compliance with applicable analytic tradecraft standards.
  • Produce graphs, charts, tables, metrics, written assessments, and other analytical products documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Present and communicate complex quantitative findings and recommendations to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Experience developing statistical and mathematical models, computational simulations, performance metrics, and quantitative analytical methodologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical testing, sampling, experimental and test design, baseline analysis, and performance measurement.
  • Experience processing and analyzing large, complex datasets and developing code or scripts to automate data collection, processing, modeling, and analysis.
  • Ability to develop, analyze, and interpret performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, deficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience reviewing technical and analytical documentation for accuracy, completeness, methodological rigor, and compliance with applicable analytic tradecraft standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex quantitative findings through graphs, charts, tables, metrics, written assessments, and briefings to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
