WSP is currently initiating a search for a for a Parking/Stations Program Manager our Chicago, Illinois office. The Transportation and Infrastructure Group leads and design projects that supports local and regional growth initiatives through small and large transportation projects. Our goal is to team with our agency clients and with local contractors and to develop solutions and to deliver projects that advance transportation throughout the region. With over 90 architects and engineers focused on transportation facilities, WSP delivers transportation facilities projects regionally and nationally. Major design hubs include Chicago, New York City, Boston, St Louis, Virginia Beach and San Francisco.

The position offers varied projects in the transportation facilities field primarily within the Chicago area. Opportunities exist for projects throughout the country. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible to deliver projects from start to finish including traditional and alternate delivery. Project work types include pre-k thru higher education, local, national and international airports, intermodal transportation hubs, rail infrastructure, ADA improvements, as well a wide array of projects. Clients include Metra Railroad, CTA, Amtrak, design-build contractors, utilities, etc. The scale of work varies from small to very large projects and offers the candidate the ability to continually switch between multiple project types on any given day and offers tremendous exposure to varied disciplines within the Chicago Office.

Responsibilities include:
  • Effectively communicate projects' goals and progress to multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective leadership, being able to bring teams together to work to develop solutions that meets the project needs and goals
  • Capable of developing/assembling design teams including visioning project approach
  • Planning schedules and budgets as well as follow throughs
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written. Capable to coordinate and discuss project status with Senior Management
  • Thorough understanding of project management tools including scheduling, budgeting, risks registers

Typical Projects Types Include:
  • Transportation projects types include rail, bus, airports and marine ports; Facility building types include administration buildings, tolling structures, parking structures, bus and rail stations including associated maintenance facilities, ancillary buildings, vent buildings, etc.
  • Pre-K through higher education school buildings
  • Traditional and Alternate delivery type projects

Growth Opportunities include:
  • Build strong relationships with various disciplines leads within the Chicago office
  • Build strong relationships with Chicago Senior Management as well as with clients and stakeholders
  • Lead the development of teaming arrangements and proposals

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering with a focus on facility type experience
  • 12+ years of experience (at least 10 years minimum of design, and 8 years of project management)
  • Project Manager on complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Professional licensure (R.A.) in Illinois
  • Knowledgeable in state and city building codes
  • Well versed in assembling contract documents
  • Excellent communication and writing skills and well organized
  • Self-starter, able to work independently
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's in Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration
  • Experience in transit and rail station design, including familiarity with NFPA 130
  • Experience related in facility (building) design, design-build project delivery method.
  • Transportation industry experience

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $157,500 - $233,860

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
