Full Job Description
Position Overview

Priority Worldwide is seeking an experienced Station Manager to lead the overall operations, performance, and continued growth of our Montreal station.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The Station Manager will lead the team and oversee the operation, but this is not a management-only role. The successful candidate must have strong, current freight forwarding knowledge and be comfortable personally handling shipments and operational files when needed.

The Station Manager will oversee Air and Ocean import and export operations, domestic transportation, warehouse activities, customer service, compliance, sales support, and station performance. The role will work closely with corporate management and Priority Worldwide's global network to support the continued growth and profitability of the Montreal station.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being in the operation, not just managing from the sidelines-someone who can move between leading the team, working through a difficult shipment, resolving a customer issue, supporting sales, and addressing broader station priorities.

Please note: This position is open to candidates currently based in the Greater Montreal Area. This is an on-site position, and candidates must be able to work in our Montreal office. Priority Worldwide does not provide relocation assistance or visa sponsorship. Candidates must already be authorized to work in Canada to be considered. Only applicants who meet these criteria will be considered.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of direct Air and Ocean import/export freight forwarding experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of management or leadership experience.
  • Strong and current knowledge of freight forwarding operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally handle and troubleshoot shipments and operational files.
  • Strong understanding of Air, Ocean, import, export, domestic transportation, and warehouse operations.
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams.
  • Experience with sales leadership, sales mentorship, or business development.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and close complex business opportunities.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CargoWise One.
  • Customs brokerage experience and knowledge of CBSA processes strongly preferred
  • Warehouse and inventory management experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Station Leadership
  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Montreal station.
  • Personally handle and support shipments, operational files, quotes, documentation, and problem-solving when needed.
  • Step in during high-volume periods, staffing shortages, complex shipments, or other situations requiring additional operational support.
  • Ensure shipments and customer requests are handled accurately, efficiently, and on time.
  • Monitor workloads and ensure appropriate distribution of work across the team.
  • Ensure employees follow company procedures, customer SOPs, and quality requirements.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency, service, and profitability.

  • Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance, service, productivity, and compliance.
  • Support hiring, training, performance management, and employee development in partnership with HR and department managers.
  • Directly manage warehouse personnel and support warehouse operations.
  • Lead regular station meetings and maintain strong communication across departments and offices.
  • Lead by example and remain actively involved in the operation.

Customer, Sales & Business Development
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Support sales staff in developing new business, strengthening existing accounts, and closing opportunities.

  • Monitor sales and service objectives and identify opportunities to improve customer retention and profitability.

  • Ensure warehouse operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company requirements.
  • Promote sustainable practices throughout station operations.

Benefits & Compensation
  • Salary: $100,000-$140,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications
