Our office is responsible for the prosecution of all crimes committed in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties. We are seeking Assistant State Attorneys that have good judgment and a passion to keep our community safe. We hire Florida Bar members in good standing who have demonstrated an interest in litigation and/or criminal law through course work and internships. We also recruit attorneys with prosecutorial experience for lateral hires. Our prosecutors manage a large caseload, are in court frequently, and prosecute numerous trials. Training and mentoring are provided by senior attorneys. This is truly a unique opportunity to learn to become a first class trial attorney. The minimum entry level annual salary for attorneys is $75,000.00, commensurate with experience, which coupled with our generous benefits package is comparable to $104,141.46 annually. Trial work includes preparation and summation of detailed case work for presentation of cases in jury and non-jury trials, and the examining and cross-examining of witnesses, defendants, and victims.
