Full Job Description
As a Startup & Commissioning Engineer within the Engineering team, you will travel to customer sites to provide startup and commissioning services for Ultrapure Water (UPW), Wastewater Treatment (WWT), and Reclaim/Recycle systems. Working under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, you will support system performance, customer training, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

What You Will Do
  • Develop commissioning plans for water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Perform startup and commissioning of equipment and systems in accordance with established plans and procedures
  • Troubleshoot onsite issues with support from project, process, and automation engineering teams
  • Train customer personnel on the operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Document commissioning activities, inspections, tests, measurements, and corrective actions
  • Adhere to customer safety requirements and site health and safety conditions
  • Evaluate equipment performance in the field and recommend improvements to Engineering
  • Liaise with customers to ensure work is completed to their satisfaction and company expectations
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections of equipment at manufacturers’ facilities
  • Participate in customer meetings as required
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Position Details
  • Based out of the Plano office
  • Travel requirement: Up to 99% travel to customer sites

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university, or equivalent education or experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of semiconductor water and wastewater chemistry and typical semiconductor waste streams
  • Knowledge of water treatment technologies including filtration, membrane treatment, ion exchange treatment, clarification, and reclaim water treatment
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and converse in English
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, and process logic documents
  • Ability to develop and write clear and concise SOPs and SOOs
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve differences of opinion in design or detailing
  • Ability to make decisions using multiple variables in non-standard situations
  • Ability to read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams, mechanical and structural drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to work effectively and safely with tools, instruments, analyzers, chemicals, and various materials required for field service work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in the water treatment industry
  • Experience in a Semiconductor Wafer Fab environment with Ultrapure Water (UPW) and Wastewater Treatment (WWT) systems
  • Experience mentoring and training junior engineers

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:


The pay for this role is $80,000-$120,000 Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
