OverviewReporting to the Stamping Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting new model introduction by ensuring stamping processes are capable, repeatable, and aligned with takt time and production requirements.
The Stamping Engineer is also responsible for driving continuous improvement (kaizen) initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance, while developing team capability and reinforcing a culture of problem-solving.
What you'll be doing - Safety improvements and requirements to meet Safety KPIs
- Develop and manage Press / Dejima production plans based on press/tool capacity and process requirements
- Auto Die Change (ADC), External Die Change (EDC), Parts stores location, etc.)
- Analyze production control data and daily build requirements to create press run schedules
- Modify and adjust production schedules to accommodate any planned equipment downtime, production overbuilds/build ahead, and any abnormal conditions
- Support and facilitate group problem-solving sessions, including Cross-Check and any Toyota Problem Solving activity
- Working within role to develop & follow hoshin for a department that supports Press and Dejima production
- Managing capital and special projects (CAPEX)
- Manage multiple vender budgets for shop support
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers on production builds, model launches and any current model changepoints (Internal Logistics, Body Weld, Production Control & Onsite Suppliers)
What you bring - Bachelor's engineering degree or equivalent experience required
- Microsoft Office Proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of Toyota concepts, Toyota Production System (TPS) and Kaizen
Added bonus if you have - Project management experience from scope of work, planning and budgeting
- Stamping production system experience
