- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:- Experience driving compliance, privacy, or trust initiatives for a globally distributed consumer application.
- Experience in cross-platform development and mobile client infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of client-side system architecture on mobile platforms (Android or iOS).
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting mobile applications.
- Demonstrated ability to reduce system complexity and invent novel architectural patterns for open-ended, ambiguous issues.
Responsibilities- Own the strategy, scoping, and navigation of complex compliance initiatives across a large work group with long time horizons.
- Clarify, make tractable, and solve large, ambiguous technical problems, reducing architectural chaos and delivering scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Partner with Legal, product managers, security, and other engineering teams to align competing priorities and drive organizational consensus in the best interest of Google and its users.
- Identify future compliance requirements or privacy risks, designing preventive architectural safeguards into the foundational layers of GMM.
- Elevate engineering standards, influence designs beyond the GMM Client Infrastructure team, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
