Position Summary...
As a Staff Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, driving the full software development lifecycle with a focus on cloud-native architecture and AI/ML integration. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate across functions to translate complex user needs into actionable solutions. Your role will emphasize engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement to enhance developer productivity and system resilience. This position demands strong judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable software aligned with business objectives.

What you'll do...
  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
  • Lead end-to-end software development lifecycle activities-design, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance-while leveraging AI to accelerate delivery and enhance quality across every stage of the SDLC.
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
  • Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
  • Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components using multiple programming languages.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and track success metrics.


What you'll bring:
  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00
