The RoleAs a
Staff Software Engineer, you'll serve as a technical leader and force multiplier across our engineering organization. This is a senior individual contributor role with outsized scope. You'll own complex, high-impact systems, set technical direction, and elevate the engineers around you. Your work will shape the foundation of our platform and help Arch scale to meet the demands of a rapidly growing client base.
Key responsibilities:- Architect and drive complex, cross-functional technical initiatives from conception to production, with a focus on scalability and long-term maintainability.
- Set technical direction for core platform systems, making informed trade-offs to ensure performance, security, and reliability at scale.
- Partner with product, design, and data teams to define and deliver high-impact features end to end, influencing roadmap decisions with technical insight.
- Mentor and level up engineers across the team through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on technical guidance.
- Identify and resolve systemic engineering challenges, including technical debt, infrastructure gaps, and cross-team bottlenecks that impact velocity.
Reach out to us if you have:- 8+ years of experience building and scaling web-based software products.
- A track record of owning and delivering complex technical projects with measurable cross-team impact.
- Deep expertise in full-stack development, distributed systems, or large-scale backend architecture.
- Experience influencing technical direction and driving alignment across teams without formal authority.
- Excellent communication skills - you can articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points if you have:- Experience in the fintech space or building on investment platforms.
- Prior experience as a founding or early-stage engineer at a fast-growing startup.
- Background in building developer tooling, internal platforms, or infrastructure to improve engineering efficiency at scale.
