Full Job Description
Location: This is a hybrid role and requires in-office presence at our Austin, TX office three days per week.

Position Summary:

The Staff SDET role will help to build and maintain TrendAI's on-prem & cloud product's continuous build, Automated Testing, and release infrastructure as code. It includes development of automated system test cases, enhancements in the automation framework, integrating the tests in the existing/new CI pipelines, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining the existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Works with cross-functional teams (Developers, Test Engineers) and create effective Test plans for various functional areas of network security products.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases of network security products and SaaS offering from Trend.
  • Contribute towards enhancing test automation framework for functional and system test cases.
  • Design & Implement automation around our cloud infrastructure: build, test, deploy and release process.
  • Test network protocol handling across TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS/SSL, and application-layer protocols to ensure proper inspection and policy enforcement.
  • Leverage AI tools to optimize and streamline workflows
  • Monitor and enhance metrics collection, feedback management and alerting solutions.
  • Active participation in agile ceremonies to plan and execute software test plans.
  • Collaborate with development teams in defect discovery, resolution, reproduction, and verification.
  • Setup of test environments in the test lab
  • Understanding new tools/technologies and implementing backend and frontend solutions


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software testing, QA automation, or SDET roles, preferably in cybersecurity, network security, or enterprise infrastructure products.
  • Strong in Python, familiar with Java/C/React
  • AWS, Azure or other public cloud service providers infrastructure exposure in practice or coursework
  • Terraform, CloudFormation or other infrastructure provisioning tools.
  • Familiarity with packet capture and network analysis tools (Wireshark and tcpdump).
  • Experience troubleshooting networks, security appliances, or centralized management platforms.
  • CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, Jenkins X, GitHub Actions etc.)
  • Version control systems (GitHub)
  • Agile software development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and convey technical ideas to a varied technical audience.
  • Experience in working on Linux environment, VMware & KVM
