Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current RN license in Maine or compact nursing license mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within one year of hire.
  • 1-3 years of nursing experience preferred, particularly in ICU or related fields.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in alignment with State of Maine regulations and hospital policies.
  • Supervise nursing staff and delegate tasks as the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse.
  • Monitor patient conditions, document care provided, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
  • Assist in training and cross-training nursing staff in ICU procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with medical and allied health staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Implement best practices in patient care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Full Job Description
Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the RN performs patient care functions as approved by the State of Maine Board of Nursing and St. Joseph Hospital policies and procedures. The Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse will provide direct supervision for the shift the RN is assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: ASN Required, BSN preferred
  • License(s): Current Maine RN license or compact license
  • Certifications (s): BLS current or within 30 days of hire; ACLS current or within 90 days of hire; PALS current or within 1 year of hire
  • Experience: 1 -3 years preferred
  • ICU experience preferred but cardiopulmonary/step-down/telemetry experience will be considered with goal to cross-train to ICU within on year


Other Skills Required: Must be a team player, have strong communication skills as well the ability to multi-task

Comp Range:
$33.43 - $46.04
