Full Job Description
About the Team:

The Talent Acquisition team is adding a Staff Recruiter to expand its capacity and raise the bar for how Grindr identifies and hires talent. You will own a full portfolio of searches across functions and levels, including leadership and executive roles, while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. This role combines hands-on recruiting with the opportunity to shape hiring strategy, build scalable practices, and strengthen talent density across the company.

At Grindr, we operate in Grindr Mode. Moderately hardcore day to day, truly hardcore when it counts. It's about doing great work without burning out. Outcomes over outputs. Smart, driven people who raise your bar, with room to live full lives.

This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco office and will require you to be in person Tuesdays and Thursdays.

About the Job:
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify talent gaps, define the profiles needed to strengthen their teams, and turn business priorities into focused hiring strategies.
  • Own complex, full-cycle searches across functions and levels, including leadership and executive hiring, from intake and market mapping through assessment and close.
  • Build targeted sourcing strategies that reach exceptional candidates, including talent that is not actively looking, and provide clear market insight when the brief or expectations need to change.
  • Advise hiring teams on role design, candidate calibration, interview quality, and closing strategy, using data and judgment to create clarity and momentum.
  • Build scalable recruiting frameworks, tools, and operating practices that improve consistency, speed, candidate experience, and decision quality across the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Use AI and automation to redesign recruiting workflows, remove low-value work, and create reusable systems that increase team capacity.
  • Mentor recruiting teammates through thought partnership, market insight, and high standards of execution without formal people management responsibility.

Role Requirements:
  • A strong track record of owning complex, full-cycle searches across functions and levels, including leadership or executive roles.
  • Experience in executive search or agency recruiting, plus experience operating inside a startup or hypergrowth company.
  • The executive presence and business judgment to build trust with senior leaders, challenge assumptions, and guide high-stakes hiring decisions.
  • Deep sourcing expertise, including market mapping, talent intelligence, personalized outreach, and the ability to engage sought-after candidates.
  • Experience shaping recruiting strategy across multiple teams or business areas, not only delivering against individual requisitions.
  • A systems mindset and a record of improving recruiting practices, tools, or workflows beyond your own searches.
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities without losing rigor or momentum.

You May Thrive in this Role if You:
  • Enjoy moving between executive search, high-priority individual contributor roles, and emerging business needs.
  • Create clarity when the hiring brief is ambiguous, the market challenges expectations, or stakeholders disagree on the profile.
  • Are energized by direct executive partnership and the opportunity to build Talent Acquisition at a public company operating with startup speed.
  • Raise the performance of the broader team through strong judgment, reusable practices, and generous thought partnership.
  • Are AI-native or rapidly becoming so - you actively use AI tools in your workflow and are always looking for new ways to leverage them

Benefits and Perks:
  • Health, Dental & Vision Full premium coverage for you. Partial coverage for dependents.
  • Family Formation Up to $300,000 in fertility and family-building support, covering IVF, surrogacy, egg freezing, and adoption.
  • Retirement: 401(k) with 6% match and immediate vesting.
  • Compensation: Industry-competitive compensation, company bonus, and equity for every employee.
  • Gender-Affirming Care : Industry-leading gender-affirming offerings with up to 90% cost coverage, access to Included Health, monthly stipends for HRT, and more.
  • Time Off & Rest Flexible vacation policy. Two company-wide rest weeks per year.
  • Other Benefits: Monthly stipends for cell phone, internet, wellness, food, and commuting, breakfast/lunch
