Job SummarySummary
Provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment; formulates individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses; conducts routine forensic evaluations (e.g., commitment, guardianship); and directs the ongoing care of patients.
'Your responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to providing rotating clinical coverage for Belmont- and Middleborough-based inpatient, partial hospital, and/or residential programs for up to 48 weeks each year including during periods of high coverage needs (e.g., around major holidays and winter/summer vacation). The average assigned patient census will be 8, which may comprise patient coverage for two units/providers.''

Essential Functions
-Provides clinical services including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.
-Communicates with other providers of mental health and medical services as appropriate.
-Maintains contact with family members as appropriate.
-Documents in the record by the completion of treatment plans, patient encounter forms, appropriate progress notes, clinical summaries and other documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
-Provides interface with payers and managed care organizations through the completion of timely and effective reviews and necessary authorizations.
-Participates in program and hospital administrative activities (e.g., staff meetings, CQI, hospital committees, etc.)
-Maintains awareness of medicolegal/risk management issues.

Doctor of Medicine required or Doctorate Related Field of Study required

Formal Residency education in a program approved by the RRC of the ACGME 3-5 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in diagnosis, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and other somatic therapies, the formulation of treatment plans and the conduct of patient-specific treatment programs. (May be obtained during residency education)
- All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.
- Required to complete electronic medical records training and demonstrate 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
