Description Altus Technology Solutions is seeking a Staff Project Manager (ECMP) to support Engineering Change and Modernization Projects (ECMP) at Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD).
This position provides project management support for active research, engineering, manufacturing, and facility modernization initiatives supporting national defense programs. The successful candidate will oversee project execution activities, coordinate technical teams, monitor schedules and milestones, and support the successful delivery of engineering projects throughout the project lifecycle.
The Staff Project Manager will work closely with government personnel, engineers, manufacturing teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical, schedule, and program objectives.
This role is critical to supporting lifecycle management, project execution, and coordination across engineering and modernization efforts associated with ECMP initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities: - Provide project management support for Engineering Change and Modernization Projects (ECMP).
- Coordinate project activities across engineering, manufacturing, safety, construction, and technical teams.
- Support project planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, action item trackers, milestone reports, and status updates.
- Monitor project progress and assist in identifying and resolving schedule, technical, and resource challenges.
- Coordinate meetings, technical reviews, design reviews, project briefings, and stakeholder engagements.
- Track project deliverables and ensure timely completion of project objectives.
- Support risk identification, issue management, and mitigation planning activities.
- Assist with project documentation, technical reports, meeting minutes, and project records management.
- Coordinate communication between government stakeholders, engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Support engineering and manufacturing modernization initiatives through project planning and execution support.
- Monitor project performance and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and project outcomes.
- Assist with resource planning and coordination to support project requirements.
- Support development and maintenance of project management documentation and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable customer requirements, safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
Required: - Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Must have interim clearance before start date)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of project or program management experience supporting technical, engineering, manufacturing, construction, or defense programs
- Experience supporting project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution activities
- Experience developing project reports, schedules, status updates, and tracking documentation
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
Preferred:
- Experience supporting Department of Defense programs
- Experience supporting Engineering Change and Modernization Projects (ECMP)
- Experience supporting facility modernization, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial projects
- Familiarity with technical data packages (TDPs), engineering documentation, and configuration management processes
- Experience supporting project lifecycle management from initiation through closeout
- Experience with project scheduling and project management tools
- Experience supporting energetics, ammunition, explosives, or defense-related programs
