Description Your role at GEI. GEI is seeking a motivated and experienced Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Civil Engineer for our Green Bay, WI or Marquette, MI office to support our environmental and engineering practices in the Midwest. Environmental project tasks may include those related to investigation and remediation, due diligence, environmental compliance, and permitting. Engineering project tasks may include design, contract document preparation, construction engineering, construction quality assurance, and permitting for various client sectors, including solid waste, mining, and power generation.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties The ideal candidate for this position will:
- Support the completion of Phase I II Environmental Site Assessments, Site Investigation Work Plans, Site Investigation Reports, Remedial Action Options Reports, Remedial Action Documentation Reports, Case Closure Requests, and Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Support the completion of Storm Water and Oil Pollution Prevention Plans; Pollution Incident Prevention Plans; Monitoring Implementation Plans; Feasibility Reports; Plans of Operation; and Plan Modifications.
- Support the completion environmental and engineering permits and regulatory compliance reporting, including air permits; construction, industrial storm water, and wastewater permits; air emissions inventories; and EPCRA reporting.
- Complete a wide range of field tasks, including sampling of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, landfill gas, leachate, storm water, wastewater, and other media to support environmental, solid waste, and geotechnical investigations; documenting soil and groundwater remediation and soil vapor mitigation; and documenting landfill cell and final cover construction.
- Complete a wide range of office tasks, including reviewing environmental regulations and guidance documents; reviewing requests for proposals and professional qualifications; tabulating and interpreting environmental and engineering data; preparing cost estimates, proposals, and technical memorandums; and effectively communicating with project teams.
- Support various program initiatives and project needs by collaborating with team leaders locally and nationally and participating in client-based professional organizations and industry events.
- Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact.
Minimum Qualifications - B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Geology.
- 4 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, and/or Certified Hydrogeologist is preferred.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgement, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel for routine short-term and occasional long-term field assignments with overnight stays as needed.
